Elisa (pronounced eh-Lisa) Joyce was born in Boston, MA, where she was raised by a single mom who read to her every night and encouraged her overactive imagination. As a child, she dragged her mom to Salem whenever she could, and read so many books that her mom put a limit on how many she was allowed to buy at once from Barnes and Noble, a rule she still follows today.

With the support of her family, Elisa moved to England to study Creative Writing at the University of Nottingham and the University of Birmingham. After graduation, she decided to stay, and currently lives with her partner and works as a high school English teacher. She is an avid fan of board games, traveling, and tea. When she is not writing, she is playing with her two black cats, reading, or doing archery Elisa can be found on all social media platforms as @elisajoycebooks.
